Nekki has released a new Spine gameplay trailer and confirmed that the cinematic Gun Fu action game will launch in Summer 2027.
The single-player action game is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Redline Takes On Tensor City
Spine follows Redline, a rebel street artist armed with Spine, a sentient combat implant with its own mind.
After a mafia heist goes wrong and her brother gets captured, Redline fights back against Tensor City’s AI-run regime. The city sorts human value through a Social Rating system, splitting people between the New City above and the decaying Old City below.
New Trailer Shows Judge and Tensor’s Children
The release window trailer gives players a first look at Judge, Tensor City’s supreme leader.
It also introduces Tensor’s Children, Edda Kopp and Malady, who carry Spines of their own. The trailer shows boss fights, underground labs, the cliffs of the City’s Greenhouse, and a fight on top of a high-speed train.
Gun Fu Combat Stays in Focus
Spine mixes close-range gunplay with Freeflow Gun Fu combat.
The trailer highlights directional attacks, parries, dodges, environmental attacks, sliding movement, and combat choreography built with action movie stunt specialists. Nekki is building the game in Unreal Engine 5, using its Cascadeur animation engine.
Spine Expands Through Bullet Dancers
Nekki is also publishing Spine: Bullet Dancers, a webtoon comic tied to the game.
Fans can use it to get a closer look at the setting and characters before Spine launches.
