Mr. Records has added a Music Level Editor to its Steam demo, letting you create and play custom rhythm stages. Publisher Wired Productions and developer Glee-Cheese studio released the update ahead of Steam Next Fest, with support for importing your own music and sharing levels on PC.
The editor will also be included in every version of the full game, planned for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Build Rhythm Levels Around Your Own Music
The Music Level Editor lets you place notes, obstacles, and effects along a music timeline, then jump directly into your creation.
You can customize assets, colors, animations, and backgrounds, and sync movement to the beat. PC players can also import their own tracks and share completed levels for others to play.
The announcement confirms the editor is available across all platforms, but custom music importing and sharing are PC-only features.
Open a Record Shop and Explore George’s Memories
Mr. Records follows George, an older man who finally opens the record shop he has always wanted. Each album becomes a playable setting inside his imagination, with running, jumping, sliding, and dodging timed to the music.
The full game includes more than 40 handcrafted levels and original music composed by the developers. Styles include funk, progressive rock, hip-hop, electronic music, and ’80s pop.
Between stages, you’ll meet customers, recommend records, solve musical riddles, and expand the shop’s stock. Photographs, notes, and songs gradually reveal George’s memories, including lost love and regrets.
His bedroom above the shop offers a quieter hub to review those memories, check progress, and take calls.
Updated Steam Demo Available Now
The demo introduces the start of George’s story as he prepares to open his shop, along with the newly added creation tools.
You can download the updated Mr. Records demo on Steam now. A release date for the full game has not been announced.
