Ride the Hoversword Across Sand and Sea
Players control the Wraith, using a Hoversword to surf across sand and water waves. Its movement draws from surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding, emphasizing momentum and tricks as you travel through ancient ruins.
Exploration includes hidden areas and platforming challenges, with the surrounding environments changing as you restore a lost ocean.
An Adventure From Giant Squid and Austin Wintory
Sword of the Sea was created by Giant Squid studio head Matt Nava, whose previous work includes art direction on Journey. Composer Austin Wintory provides the original score.
The game arrives on Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S on October 29, 2026.
