Resonance of Fate / End of Eternity Enhanced Remaster is available digitally on PlayStation 5 and Steam. tri-Ace’s updated gun-action RPG introduces improved textures and rendering alongside a new double-speed option for exploration, battles, and events.
The Steam release works differently from the PS5 version: the enhancements are sold as DLC for the existing Resonance of Fate / End of Eternity 4K/HD Edition. Current owners can purchase the DLC to upgrade, while newcomers need both the base game and the DLC.
Enhanced Graphics and a Double-Speed Option
The remaster updates textures across towns, characters, and other parts of the game, with rendering improvements intended to sharpen its presentation beyond the previous 4K/HD Edition.
An optional decimation filter further refines fine details, including character hair. Players can enable it through the settings menu.
The other main addition is 2x Game Speed. This setting doubles the pace of field exploration, combat, and events, letting players move through the adventure faster. Its reach extends beyond battles, letting players speed up travel and story sequences, too.
Return to Basel With Zephyr, Vashyron, and Leanne
Originally released in 2010, Resonance of Fate is set in a distant future when humanity faces extinction on a devastated Earth. People constructed the enormous machine Basel to restore the environment, eventually entrusting it with the cycle of life and death.
The story follows mercenaries Zephyr, Vashyron, and Leanne as their jobs draw them into Basel’s mysteries and force them to confront their own circumstances.
Combat centers on tri-Ace’s Hero Action system, which combines tactical decision-making with acrobatic gunplay. The game also features a soundtrack composed by Kohei Tanaka and Motoi Sakuraba.
Steam Owners Need the Upgrade DLC
The enhanced release follows the 4K/HD Edition, which arrived in 2018. On Steam, owning that edition alone does not include the new enhancements; the upgrade requires a separate DLC purchase.
