Gobble Inn, the next game from Trash Goblin developer Spilt Milk Studios, has launched a Steam demo alongside its Kickstarter campaign. The cozy mining and cooking adventure stars returning character Aunty Val, who gathers ingredients from an ever-changing underground Chasm to feed customers at her inn.
The game also features Penelope Rawlins as Aunty Val and Tim Downie as Donoval, a friendly lizard familiar to Trash Goblin players. Rawlins’ credits include Baldur’s Gate 3 and Metaphor: ReFantazio, while Downie voices Gale in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Mine for Ingredients, Then Cook for Customers
Each expedition sends Aunty Val underground with tools and cursed trinkets to help her gather food. The Chasm contains different biomes and block types, giving players obstacles to break through as they search for ingredients.
Back at the surface, those ingredients become meals for the inn’s hungry goblin and lizardfolk customers. Players can experiment with recipes, sell dishes to build the inn’s reputation, or eat their own cooking for power-ups.
Players can also donate spare food to those in need. Expanding the inn with additional tables and chairs lets players accommodate more customers as the business grows.
Steam Demo Offers More Than Two Hours of Play
The demo includes more than ten floors across two biomes, Mossy Drop and Mines. Five characters offer more than five quests, while four tools provide different ways to approach a delve.
Players can collect nine ingredients, prepare six dishes, and obtain 16 Curséd Trinkets to shape their runs. Spilt Milk estimates it takes more than two hours to see everything included in the demo.
Kickstarter Gives Players an Early Look
Creative director Andrew Smith said the studio wanted to show Gobble Inn early because its more urgent, arcade-style gameplay represents a substantial change from Trash Goblin. The returning characters and tone connect the games, while mining expeditions and cooking establish a different routine.
The campaign also returns Spilt Milk to crowdfunding after Trash Goblin began on Kickstarter.
