Square Enix Exec Felt Embarrassed of Its Japanese E3 Showing

This piece of news has been making the rounds. Square Enix had a good showing this year from its Eidos division with Tomb Raider starting off the Microsoft Press Conference and Deus Ex, Hitman Absolution in the media reports. But what happened to all of Square Enix’s Japanese offerings?

Our KHU correspondent Arturo had been searching high and low for any tidbit of Kingdom Hearts information from the Japanese division of Square Enix. However, the only real Japanese game on display from the company at this year E3 was Final Fantasy XIII-2. It would make sense that now a Square Enix executive confirmed their dismal showing.

Koji Taguchi, CEO of Square Enix Holdings, posted on Twitter via Andriasang: “Because we merged with Eidos and had games like Tomb Raider, Deus and Hitman, as a company we were able to keep face. But the decline in Japanese titles was almost humiliating. This has been a week where I worried daily about how we can fix this.”
