Watch Dogs Delayed Until Spring 2014

Ubisoft has delayed their upcoming open world Chicago based game until after the new year.

Games get delayed. Nothing unusually about this news, but its all to regular nature doesn’t make the news any easier to deal with. Watch Dogs was planned to be released this November on current and next gen platforms, until Ubisoft realized the game wouldn’t meet their quality standards.

Watch Dogs would have had little to compete with if it made its originally planned launch. Now it will have to directly compete with some of the most anticipated games of 2014, Titanfall and Destiny.

Check out the official reason from the Ubiblog:

We know a lot of you are probably wondering: Why now? We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality. As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune each detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.
