New Monster Hunter Wilds Trailer Reveals World, Game Systems, and More

After being announced last year at the Game Awards, Capcom’s upcoming action RPG Monster Hunter Wilds received a new trailer in today’s State of Play. This trailer provides the premise for the story, as the main character ventures into the Forbidden Lands, and highlights one of the beautiful environments the player will explore, the Windward Plains.

The Windward Plains is home to monsters both big and small, and we get a look at combat here as the player takes on several of these beasts. Monster Hunter Wilds will feature seamless transitions between story sequences and gameplay, and it is fully voiced. A new type of mount called Seikrets has also been introduced, allowing the player to travel across the environments and switch to a secondary weapon.

All 14 weapon types will return, along with new systems such as Focus Mode and the Hook Slinger. Additionally, players with Monster Hunter: World save data can get a Felyne Leather Set and Felyne Acorn Spade, as well as a Feline Duffel Set and Felyne Trekker Peckaxe for having Iceborne save data.

Monster Hunter: Wilds is due out in 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
