After a delay earlier this year, Killing Floor 3 has officially locked in a new global release date. Developer and publisher Tripwire Interactive announced today that the brutal co-op action-horror FPS will launch on July 24, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
The game was originally slated to release in March, but the studio opted to delay it in order to address feedback from early community impressions. Since then, Tripwire has been offering regular development updates, showcasing improvements in gameplay design, UI, artwork, and animation—all with the goal of refining the experience based on fan input.
“We’ve dedicated the additional development time to responding to the community’s feedback,” said Bryan Wynia, Creative Director at Tripwire Interactive. “The support from our fans has been incredible, and with the new July 24 release date in sight, we’re thrilled to bring that vision to players not just at launch, but through the continued support of new features and content that is a hallmark of our studio.”
A New Chapter in a Cult Horror FPS Franchise
Set in the year 2091, Killing Floor 3 takes place 70 years after the events of Killing Floor 2. In this dark dystopia, the sinister Horzine Corporation has engineered a horde of bio-modified monstrosities known as Zeds—and they’ve grown more terrifying than ever. Players take on the role of a Nightfall Specialist, part of a rebel cell fighting to stop the Zed invasion and reclaim what’s left of humanity.
Like its predecessors, Killing Floor 3 is a team-based, wave-based shooter that emphasizes frantic combat, powerful weapon upgrades, and relentless survival gameplay. Expect even more customization, larger-scale encounters, and a deeper skill system than ever before.
Editions and Pre-Orders
Killing Floor 3 will be available in Standard, Deluxe, and Elite Nightfall Editions, with digital pre-orders now live on all major storefronts. Players can expect exclusive cosmetics, XP boosts, and other bonuses depending on which edition they choose.
Tripwire has promised ongoing updates and new content after launch, continuing the studio’s history of long-term post-launch support for its games.
