During the Games Forged in Germany Steam showcase earlier today, solo developer Jonas Manke of Studio Inkyfox unveiled the first gameplay trailer for Kibu, a stunning new atmospheric adventure game set to launch on PC later this year. Published by Future Friends Games (Omno, Europa, Exo One), Kibu builds on the meditative, movement-focused gameplay of Manke’s previous hit Omno, but adds a layer of tactile staff-based combat and world restoration.
A Solitary Monk, A World to Rebuild
In Kibu, players take on the role of a lone monk living deep in the wilderness, armed only with a staff and a mission: to restore a crumbling temple by communing with spirits, battling corrupted creatures, and exploring a lush, mystical world. The game blends tranquil exploration with flowing, animation-rich combat and environmental storytelling inspired by ancient teachings.
You’ll harness the power of nature and the gods to bring life back to a forgotten ruin, transforming it into a blooming sanctuary one piece at a time.
Features:
- Traverse Beautiful Biomes – Glide, climb, and roam through diverse natural environments
- Seek Spiritual Wisdom – Uncover teachings and commune with the spirits of the land
- Tactile Staff-Based Combat – Use a responsive, flowing combat system to overcome foes
- Collect, Decorate, Restore – Find fish, bonsai, and ancient treasures to restore your temple
- Rebuild Your Home – Gradually transform a ruined temple into a living monument
About Studio Inkyfox
