Broken Mirror Games has revealed the first gameplay trailer for I Hate This Place, an upcoming isometric survival horror game inspired by the Skybound comic of the same name. Developed by Rock Square Thunder, the game launches in Q4 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, and is now available to wishlist.
Adapted from the Eisner Award-nominated comic by Kyle Starks and Artyom Topilin, I Hate This Place drops players into a haunting wilderness where resourceful survival is the only way to outlast the horrors that hunt by sound. It’s a gnarly cocktail of crafting, stealth, and nightmarish enemies wrapped in comic book visuals and a hefty dose of retro flair.
Explore by Day. Survive by Night.
Players control Elena, a survivor trying to uncover the mystery behind a malevolent force unleashed in Rutherford Ranch. With each passing day, you’ll scavenge materials to build weapons, fortify shelters, and craft tools—because when night falls, survival becomes a gamble.
Game features include:
- Craft-Based Survival Horror – Scour haunted forests, abandoned towns, and bunkers to find what you need.
- Dynamic Day-Night Cycle – Make use of daytime to prep—because the world grows hostile and terrifying after dark.
- Sound-Driven Stealth and Combat – Most enemies hunt via sound, making stealth and trap-setting essential for survival.
- Bold Comic Aesthetic with ’80s Horror Vibes – Dripping with neon color, dark humor, and unsettling monster design.
