During The Future Games Show, LifeLine Games and publisher Dear Villagers officially revealed their partnership to bring Deer & Boy to players in 2026. The cinematic platformer will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and Nintendo Switch, with a new gameplay trailer showcased at the event.
A Story of Growth and Companionship
First introduced at Summer Games Fest 2024, Deer & Boy tells the heartfelt tale of a young boy fleeing from his home, only to encounter a frightened fawn in the wilderness. United by circumstance and mutual need, the two form an unexpected bond that helps them endure their struggles. As their journey unfolds, the fawn gradually matures into a strong deer, symbolizing resilience and offering the boy the strength to confront the trials of his destiny.
LifeLine Games founder and game director Jayson Houdet shared his gratitude with fans:
“To everyone who’s shown love for Deer & Boy, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It means the world to see so many of you touched by the little glimpse we’ve shared. We feel the weight of your expectations, and we’re pouring everything we have into bringing our vision to life, and sharing something truly meaningful with you.”
An Animated Journey with Emotional Weight
As the debut title from LifeLine Games, Deer & Boy blends the evocative qualities of animated film with the interactivity of video games. Designed as a cinematic platformer, it aims to deliver a poignant, emotionally driven adventure where visuals, narrative, and gameplay combine to create an unforgettable story of friendship, growth, and transformation.
