Katuba’s Poacher Brings Jazz-Powered Boss Battles to Steam from Red Dunes Games

Red Dunes Games is adding serious rhythm to its lineup with the announcement of Katuba’s Poacher, developed by solo South Korean creator Joe Yu. The action-heavy boss rush title is set to launch first on PC via Steam, with console versions to follow.

Sultan Darmaki, CEO and Creative Director of Red Dunes Games, praised Yu’s vision:

“Red Dunes is thrilled to partner with Joe Yu, a developer whose vision and creativity shine through every frame of Katuba’s Poacher. This is a game that surprises you the moment you pick up the controller. It’s bold, stylish, full of personality, and just fun to play.”

A Playable Jazz Concert of Monsters and Mayhem

Katuba’s Poacher isn’t just about big battles—it’s about big band energy. The hand-drawn art style is bursting with color and personality, shifting dynamically during each boss fight to reflect the tempo of the music. Think Saturday morning cartoons on a sugar rush, but with trumpets, bass, and drums syncing to your every dodge and strike.

The result? Boss battles that feel like live jazz concerts, where choreography and combat blend into a rhythmic frenzy.

When the Hunter Becomes the Hunted

The story puts players in the shoes of a seasoned poacher sent to capture Sharp, a cute but highly sought-after pink creature. What seems like a simple job quickly spirals out of control when rival bounty hunters turn their sights on you. From there, it’s a survival showdown across the wild and unpredictable island of Katuba, full of bizarre creatures and chaotic encounters.
