AstralShift has announced that their upcoming infernal deck-builder, Hell Maiden, will debut a playable demo during Steam Next Fest on October 13th, 2025. Mixing the horde survival genre with strategic deck-building, the game reimagines Dante’s Divine Comedy as a bullet hell RPG where players must conquer the nine circles of Hell.
A Journey Through Hell’s Nine Circles
In Hell Maiden, players build devastating hands of cards to survive endless waves of fiends while uncovering a branching narrative. Each run brings new encounters, unique character interactions, and the chance to unlock powerful abilities.
To succeed, players will enlist the help of the Poets of Limbo, each offering Blessings, Signature Weapons, and ultimate attacks that can completely reshape a build.
What’s in the Steam Next Fest Demo
The demo lets players descend into the first Circle of Hell, Limbo, featuring hordes of enemies, quests, and a climactic boss fight against the Judge of Hell herself. Along the way, players can rescue their first Poet of Limbo, unlocking new cards and narrative progression.
Key demo features include:
- Full Limbo level with quests, enemies, and a boss battle
- 25+ abilities to experiment with
- 9 Weapon Cards and 17 Mod Cards available initially
- An additional 3 Weapon Cards and 8 Mod Cards are unlocked after rescuing the Poet of Limbo
- Multiple runs with unique interactions and dialogues
The demo will also be fully localized into seven languages, including English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, and Japanese.
Looking Ahead to Early Access
Hell Maiden is set to expand far beyond Limbo, with each Circle of Hell introducing new enemies, challenges, and story beats. AstralShift promises variety and replayability, with every run offering fresh twists on the game’s narrative and combat.
Players eager to take their first steps into Hell can do so when Hell Maiden’s demo goes live during Steam Next Fest, October 13th, 2025.
