Wired Productions and developer Camel 101 have announced that their retro-inspired first-person survival horror shooter Beneath will launch on PC via Steam on October 27, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions following on October 28. Ahead of release, players can dive into a free playable demo as part of Steam Next Fest, available now.
A Deep-Sea Descent into Madness
Beneath places players in the diving suit of Noah Quinn, a veteran deep-sea explorer whose latest mission turns into a nightmare when he’s trapped beneath the ocean’s surface. Stranded in an underwater research facility, Noah must face off against grotesque Lovecraftian horrors and unravel a sinister conspiracy that threatens humanity itself.
Developed by a two-person studio, the game offers a story-driven, single-player experience that fuses classic survival horror mechanics with intense first-person action. With scarce ammo, relentless enemies, and a constant air of psychological dread, every encounter tests your skill and nerve. Expect tight gunplay, strategic resource management, and chilling storytelling inspired by cult favorites from the golden era of horror shooters.
Demo Available Now During Steam Next Fest
As part of Steam Next Fest, players can experience the terror early with Beneath’s newly released demo. The demo gives players a hands-on glimpse of the game’s oppressive atmosphere, Lovecraftian world design, and old-school survival mechanics.
Prepare to Go Beneath
Beneath launches for $16.59 USD (with a 15% launch discount) on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, starting on October 27 for PC and October 28 for consoles.
