Capybara Games, the studio behind Below, Grindstone, and Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, unveiled its next title during today’s Wholesome Snack showcase. Find Your Words, a deeply personal, free-to-play adventure coming to Steam in 2026. Unlike the studio’s past action-heavy or puzzle-driven games, this short narrative experience focuses on something far more intimate: learning to connect without spoken language.
Developed by two parents drawing from their children’s real AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) journeys, Find Your Words invites players to step into the shoes of a child attending a vibrant summer camp while discovering new ways to express themselves.
A Summer Camp Full of Color, Wildlife, and Growing Friendships
Players explore lush, hand-crafted campgrounds filled with wildlife, cozy cabins, and curious campers, each with their own quirks and personalities. The heart of the game revolves around building friendships, one symbol, one gesture, and one shared moment at a time.
As players collect symbols for their AAC binder, they’ll learn how different symbol combinations create new meanings. These combinations unlock new activities, conversations, and interactions across the camp, organically weaving communication into exploration and puzzle-solving.
It’s a warm, grounded premise: connection not through dialogue trees or combat, but through patience, creativity, and understanding.
A Celebration of Communication Differences
“We wanted to shine a light on communication differences and give players an opportunity to experience what it’s like to use a simplified version of a common AAC tool,” said co-creator Jon Maur.
Co-creator Vic Nyugen echoed this, noting that the team hopes players walk away with a deeper appreciation for the many ways humans connect beyond speech. It’s an uplifting blend of lived experience and thoughtful design, a rare, reflective angle in modern adventure games.
Free to Play, With Optional Supporter Edition
Find Your Words will launch free on Steam in 2026, with an optional supporter edition for players who want to help back the project. Capybara Games encourages fans to wishlist the game, with more updates coming via the studio’s website.
