IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios surprised fans at The Game Awards 2025 with the reveal that global superstar Lenny Kravitz is joining the cast of 007 First Light as the enigmatic Pirate King Bawma. This marks Kravitz’s first major role in a video game, providing both his likeness and voice to one of the entry’s most pivotal new characters.
007 First Light launches March 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox ROG Ally, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Pre-orders are live now, with multiple special editions available, including a collector’s set built for superfans.

Bawma isn’t just another arms dealer. In the lore of 007 First Light, he’s the charismatic yet volatile leader of Aleph, a sprawling black-market empire operating across the Western hemisphere. Rising through the world of modern piracy by age 17, Bawma built his power from an abandoned ship graveyard in Mauritania and now commands loyalty through equal parts charm and intimidation.
Kravitz describes Bawma as “magnetic and unpredictable… a man with danger, but also purpose.” IO Interactive emphasizes that the Pirate King will become a crucial figure in Bond’s mission, one whose intentions blur the line between friend and foe.
