Chuhai Labs and Balor Games have announced that Wild Blue Skies will launch on August 13, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The announcement was made during The MIX Summer Game Showcase, accompanied by a new trailer that revealed the game’s release date and its PlayStation 5 version.
A Modern Take on Classic Rail Shooters
Wild Blue Skies is a fast-paced aerial combat adventure inspired by the on-rails shooters that defined the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation era. Players take control of Bowie Stray and the Blue Bombers as they battle the forces of Grimclaw across a variety of environments, including oceans, deserts, and underground caverns.
The game combines arcade-style flight combat with branching mission paths, allowing players to experience different routes and encounters throughout the campaign.
Anime-Inspired Action in the Skies
While drawing inspiration from classic aerial shooters, Wild Blue Skies adds a modern presentation with stylized anime-inspired visuals and updated gameplay systems. The developers aim to make the experience approachable for newcomers while still offering the fast-paced action that longtime fans of the genre expect.
Each mission places players in the cockpit for high-speed dogfights and large-scale aerial encounters as they work to restore peace to the game’s colorful world.
