Mexican Congress Moves to Ban Call of Juarez The Cartel

Controversy has struck the upcoming Ubisoft video game, Call of Juarez: The Cartel, featuring a fictional take on the modern Wild West by exploring locales from Los Angeles to Juarez, Mexico as Chihuahua state legislators have asked federal authorities to ban the game.

In a WSJ article, Richard Boone Salmon, a congressman of the Chihuahua district, stated that the state legislature unanimously approved a request last week asking for the Federal Interior Department to ban the game. “We also should not expose children to this kind of scenarios so that they are going to grow up with this kind of image and lack of values,” Boone Salmon said.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel is expected for release this summer on PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 platforms. Ubisoft will publish the Techland developed title, which also recently reintroduced Dead Island.
