Nexon and The First Descendant development team shared a packed look at what’s next for The First Descendant during Descendant Fest 2026, including a new Season 4 trailer, the H2 2026 roadmap, anniversary events, and upcoming figure pre-orders.
The new Season 4 story preview trailer, titled The Great Clash, centers on the coming battle between Karel and the Descendants, with Albion caught in an all-out assault.
Season 4 Begins in August
The roadmap starts with a July 15 update focused on Intercept Battle changes. Hard Difficulty Intercept Battle and Void Abyss Intercept Battle will merge into one mode with tiered difficulty, including a new high-end challenge through Void Intercept Battle: Extreme.
Season 4 Episode 1 begins on August 20 with a new Mega Dungeon, described as larger than existing dungeons and built around interactive spaces, multiple bosses, and a major battle against Karel. A limited-time Conquest difficulty mode and ranking run event will follow two weeks later.
The same update adds Raven, a new Descendant and former Albion back-alley guild boss. Raven fights with quick repositioning, shotgun attacks, and the ability to summon a Raven Form.
New Weapons, Dungeons, and PvEvP
The August update will also introduce the Transcendent Weapon system with 11 new weapons. These are designed as long-term farming content, with combinable effects that let the same weapon support different builds.
September 17 will add Ultimate Hailey and two new Ultimate Skill Modules, along with Cradle of Evolution, a dungeon with stronger random elements. November will bring Henosis Sanctuary and a new Descendant named Monet.
The December update will add Colosseum-A, the game’s first asymmetric PvEvP mode. Players will split into two factions, fight the Vulgus, interfere with rival missions, and gain the ability to transform into a Colossus.
Anniversary Events and Community Updates
Descendant Fest 2026 also included a Creator Roundtable where developers spoke directly with community creators about feedback, content, Descendants, weapons, and future plans.
To mark the game’s second anniversary, Nexon released a new infographic covering total playtime, Descendants used, mission counts, popular characters, and commonly used weapons. Starting July 2, players can also view their own personal yearly infographic on the official website.
The second anniversary event begins today and runs for about two weeks. It includes new customization items, returning first anniversary items, growth-support events, web events, and the first distribution of the Transcendent Alignment Device.
Final voting for the Skin Design Contest will run from July 6 through July 20, with winning designs set to appear in-game. Anniversary drops will also run from July 2 through July 29, offering boosts, currency, customization items, and more.
Figures and More on the Way
Nexon also confirmed figure pre-orders for Nendoroid Bunny, Figma Valby, and Scale Figure Ultimate Bunny. Pre-orders run from July 1 at 9:00 PM PDT through August 31 at 5:00 AM PDT.
With Season 4, new Descendants, new weapon systems, anniversary rewards, and the first PvEvP mode on the schedule, The First Descendant has a busy second half of 2026 ahead.
