Global MapleStory Classic World officially launched on October 21, 2026, following its Founder’s Access period. Nexon America’s nostalgic take on the MMORPG brings back classic character progression, job advancements, party quests, and social activities.
You can build your character, team up with friends, and challenge monsters and bosses, with Nexon emphasizing a more relaxed pace for this version of the game.
Classic Progression With an Emphasis on Community
Classic World aims to capture the original game’s community-driven appeal while introducing features developed for this iteration.
Nexon America Chief Product Officer Hanbyeol Oh, known to players as Inkwell, said it is intended to provide a more relaxed, social experience. His vision puts spending time with other players and enjoying the setting at your own pace at the center of the game.
Future Updates Will Follow Their Own Path
Nexon says Global MapleStory and Classic World will complement each other while developing differently. That means Classic World’s future updates do not have to repeat the original game’s release history.
“Classic World may begin with nostalgia, but it is not a project that ends with nostalgia,” Inkwell said.
Global MapleStory Classic World is available now. You can find further details in the Grand Launch release notes.
