Where Winds Meet heads to the battlefield as Hutuo arrives on November 13. NetEase Games and Everstone Studio’s new region brings a wartime story, fresh boss encounters, two board game modes, and the game’s first global anniversary celebration.
Fight for Hutuo and Defend Its People
Hutuo takes players to a frontier caught in a war against northern invaders. Its story centers on the martial code of Xia and the choice between loyalty to a failing throne and protecting civilians alongside sworn companions.
The conflict reaches the battle of Zhongdu Bridge, where players confront invading forces as civilians flee. Stories across the region will also show the war through the perspectives of soldiers, refugees, and the people helping them.
The Hutuo River Campaign introduces a fight against Khitan general Xiao Han, who uses Blood-forged Super Armor. Two new World Bosses are also waiting in the region: Bingshen at Moonveil Knoll and the Khitan shaman Yelu Abuli.
Dual Spears and Board Games Join the Update
A new Dual Spears martial art, choreographed under action director Yuen Woo-ping, is scheduled to arrive in late November. The style combines offensive Light Spears with Heavy Spears focused on stance-breaking counterattacks. A Dual-Weapon Skill lets players switch between them during combos.
Hutuo also introduces two board game modes. Horse Racing Chess puts players on the board as pieces in a dice-driven race, while Jianghu Tactics focuses on building lineups through positioning, equipment, and round-by-round synergies.
Anniversary Preview Stream Set for November 2
The November 13 update coincides with Where Winds Meet’s first global anniversary. NetEase says the celebration will offer in-game rewards for both returning and new players, with details to come.
The anniversary preview stream is scheduled for November 2 UTC and will cover Hutuo, its gameplay additions, and the anniversary celebration.
