Wargaming, the studio behind World of Tanks and World of Warships, is officially launching Early Access for its new free-to-play mech hero shooter, Steel Hunters, on April 2. Mixing Battle Royale and Extraction mechanics, the game puts players in control of powerful mechs (Hunters) as they battle for survival across large-scale dynamic battlegrounds.
Mechs, Mayhem, and High-Stakes Extraction
Steel Hunters throws players into action-packed PvPvE battles where they must fight, loot, and level up their Hunters before heading to an extraction point for a final, high-stakes showdown.
Each Hunter comes with its own unique abilities, playstyle, and progression system, allowing for different tactical approaches in every match. Players can choose from an elite roster of Hunters, including Razorside, Heartbreaker, Fenris, Ursus, Trenchwalker, Prophet, and Weaver, each with devastating weapons and specialized combat skills.
The game features three massive battle zones—Crimson Ridge, Maryland Heights, and Stonecutter Keep—each designed to provide vertical combat opportunities, environmental hazards, and strategic positioning for mech warfare.
Early Access and Community Feedback
With Early Access launching on April 2, Wargaming is adopting a player-first approach, using feedback from the community to shape and refine the game ahead of its full release. The development team will continue to iterate on balance, mechanics, and content based on player engagement.
