Fallout 3: Broken Steel Dated

The latest DLC coming to Fallout 3 titled ‘Broken Steel’ has now been dated for 5th May. This expansion will raise the level cap to 30, along with new weapons, enemies and perks, (one that will allow you to bring dogmeat back to life) and last but not least changing the ending so that you can continue after the main quest has been completed.

“Broken Steel takes into account what you did in Fallout 3 and what the world is like now,”

The DLC takes place 2 weeks after the ending, Project Purity is up and running but the battle between the Brotherhood and the Enclave still continues, you have to help build a Tesla Cannon for the Brotherhood. You will visit an old power plants in order to find parts for the cannon, after that you go through the Presidential Metro Line in order to attack the Enclave base. After you go to a new area called Adams Airforce Base for more missions.

You also have side quests which involve transporting clean water around the Wasteland. These bridge as a way of finding out what’s happened to the areas you’ve visited during the main part of the game.

“You can get a number of different quests from a scribe, which has nothing to do with the main story. It adds some free-form miscellaneous quests you can do in the game.”

New Weapons include the cannon itself and a projectile flamethrower. new enemies include a Super Mutant Overlord, a Feral Ghoul Reaver and an Enclave hellfire Trooper. So basically upgrades to already exisiting enemies.

So far, this new DLC is looking to be the best yet and from the sounds of things a far longer experience. The idea of the changes to the world after the ending reminds me of Fable 2, lets hope they pull it off well.
