Digital Extremes has rolled out its final update of the year for Soulframe Preludes, and it arrives just in time for the holidays. Available today, the new update introduces Thawtide, a limited-time in-game event packed with themed rewards, alongside new runes and a wide range of quality-of-life improvements.
The Thawtide update offers players fresh reasons to return to Alca’s living world while continuing to refine the overall Preludes experience.
Thawtide Holiday Event Now Live
As the Winter Solstice approaches in Soulframe’s world, the Dendrit people prepare for Thawtide, a seasonal tradition centered around feeding Midrath’s Cardinals. Players are invited to assist in the festivities by encouraging Cardinals back to their feeding grounds and dismantling the Squawkers installed by the occupying Ode forces.
Completing Thawtide activities rewards players with exclusive, holiday-themed items, including:
- A new armor set
- Cardinal Sparrow Guide bird skins
- The new bow weapon, Maestro
- Rostrum, Soulframe’s first primary-weapon-slot dagger
The Thawtide event will remain available until Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. ET.
Event Rewards and Marketplace Options
For players who prefer instant access, all Thawtide rewards can also be unlocked through the Soulframe Marketplace using Arcs, the game’s premium currency. This provides an alternate path for collectors looking to secure limited-time gear before the event ends.
New Runes Added to Preludes
The holiday update also expands build customization with three new Runes, designed for the flyblade, greatsword, and polearm weapon types. These powerful runes are earned by defeating Agari sub-bosses while under the effects of The Cogah difficulty Elixir, offering a new challenge for seasoned players seeking deeper progression.
Quality-of-Life Improvements Across the World
In addition to new content, the update delivers a variety of quality-of-life changes aimed at smoothing exploration and progression. Highlights include new openings and entrances added to Ode’n Walls, increased Faction Standing rewards from Faction Tale side quests, and numerous other refinements detailed in the latest patch notes.
