Spike Chunsoft, Inc. has released a brand-new System Trailer for No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files, offering a closer look at how the detective adventure’s core mechanics function. The trailer highlights the game’s three main gameplay pillars: Investigation, Somnium, and Escape, using actual in-game footage captured from the PlayStation 5 version.
The game is set to launch in North America and Europe on February 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S.
Investigation, Somnium, and Escape Explained
The newly released trailer walks players through the structure of the experience. During Investigation segments, players control Kaname Date as he questions suspects, examines crime scenes, and uncovers critical clues. These sequences push the narrative forward and help unlock the next phase of the mystery.
In Somnium sections, players dive into the dream worlds of suspects using Date’s AI partner, Aiba. These surreal, puzzle-focused sequences require logical thinking under time constraints, blending abstract visuals with narrative revelations.
The final pillar, Escape, places players in tense, enclosed scenarios where they must solve environmental puzzles to survive and progress, adding an extra layer of urgency to the story.
PlayStation 5 Physical Pre-Orders Now Available
Spike Chunsoft has also confirmed that PlayStation 5 physical pre-orders are now live via the Spike Chunsoft Official Store. In addition to the standard physical edition, fans can purchase a PS5 Tote Bag Bundle, which includes a physical copy of the game and an exclusive tote bag. The bundle is priced at $64.99 and is available exclusively through the official store.
The PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X|S versions will be offered digitally only, with wishlisting and pre-orders now available on their respective storefronts.
A New Case for Kaname Date
Set after the resolution of The New Cyclops Serial Killings, the story follows the sudden abduction of internet idol Iris Sagan, also known as “A-set.” Taken by a mysterious UFO, Iris is forced into a deadly escape game known as The Third Eye Game. Elsewhere in the city, a strange coffin-like device is discovered, marked with a chilling message: “Psync me.”
With only fragmented communication linking him to the missing Iris, Special Agent Kaname Date, alongside Aiba, once again steps into the unknown to uncover the truth behind a mystery that may not even be real.
