Warframe took the stage at PAX East with a new Devstream packed with reveals, including the debut of Voruna Prime and new updates for Soulframe, giving players a clearer look at what’s coming next across both games.
Held at the Main Theater in Boston, the panel also featured appearances from Nick Apostolides and Rocco Botte, alongside community-driven segments that let attendees help decide upcoming cosmetic content.
Voruna Prime arrives April 8 with a new playstyle
The biggest reveal for Warframe is Voruna Prime, which launches on April 8 across all platforms. This new Prime variant stands out as the first fully quadrupedal Warframe, shifting how players approach movement and combat compared to standard designs.
Voruna Prime leans heavily into aggressive, hunter-style gameplay. Her abilities focus on applying status effects, summoning Lycath to assist in combat, and closing distance with long-range pounces. She also brings a full set of themed gear, including the Perigale Prime rifle and Sarofang Prime axe, alongside new cosmetic options.
This release continues Warframe’s steady cadence of Prime updates, but the movement change alone could make Voruna Prime feel meaningfully different in practice.
New cosmetics and Heirloom content teased
Beyond Voruna Prime, Digital Extremes confirmed additional cosmetic updates coming in a future release. Both Dante and Baruuk are set to receive new deluxe skins, while Mesa will get the next entry in the Heirloom cosmetic line later this year.
These updates continue the game’s focus on customization, which has become a major part of Warframe’s long-term appeal.
Soulframe gets new Pact, mount, and story content
While Soulframe did not have a full in-person segment, the Devstream still delivered several new details tied to its ongoing Preludes alpha.
Players got a preview of the upcoming Duelo Pact, which introduces a new Ancestor named Carmo and unlocks new combat options centered around a rapier weapon. The update also includes a new narrative quest, The Wreck of Mestra Carmo, along with a new environment and enemies to explore.
Another highlight is the reveal of the Wolf Mount, planned for a future update, which hints at expanded traversal options.
On the systems side, Digital Extremes is continuing to refine progression and combat, including updates to Orlick’s progression path, a reworked journal UI, and adjustments to how rune-based abilities are activated.
A steady stream of updates for both games
The PAX East Devstream reinforces how Digital Extremes is managing both Warframe and Soulframe in parallel. Warframe continues to expand with new frames and cosmetics, while Soulframe builds out its foundation through alpha updates and system changes.
For players already invested in Warframe, Voruna Prime is the immediate draw. For those watching Soulframe, the steady rollout of features suggests the game is still in a heavy iteration phase, but moving forward at a consistent pace.
More updates for both titles are expected later this year.
