Upcoming HITMAN Now Episodic

Square Enix has announced that HITMAN, the newest entry in the successful series, will now be released in an episodic format. The first episode, a Prologue Mission taking place in Paris, will be released on March 11th, followed by the next episode, taking place in Italy, in April. Finally, the third episode, taking place in Morocco in May.

Following this schedule, there will be monthly content updates, including the Thailand, the USA, and Japan as new locations, until the season concludes later in 2016. A physical disc version of HITMAN is set to release at the end of 2016. Hannes Seifert, Head of Studio at Io-Interactive, commented on the new release structure:

“We decided to take the full leap and publish HITMAN as a truly episodic game experience. Part of that decision is for that little bit of extra time to ensure every location we release is at the quality level fitting for a HITMAN game. But the main driving reason is that this will allow us to create a living game that will expand and evolve over time and establish a foundation for the future – this is the first game in a storyline which will continue and expand with future Hitman games.”

HITMAN will be available for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. For more information on, check out the game’s official website here.
