Ratata Arts has officially announced that its rhythm roguelike action game Ratatan will launch in Early Access on September 19.
The news came as a surprise reveal during an August 7 Play Session in Tokyo, where members of the Japanese press and select streamers got hands-on time with the latest build. The event also included a talk session with the development team, one-on-one interviews, and a live DJ set featuring new tracks from the game, all adding to the hype for next month’s release.
Two New Worlds Revealed
- World 3: Jam Jammer Jungle Journey
A dense, percussion-filled jungle where ancient drum ruins lie hidden beneath the canopy. Swamps, fierce wildlife, and the sinister priestess Tolja So, who is preparing a ritual to resurrect an evil god, stand between players and victory. - World 4: Frozen Flower Fantasia
What was once a lush garden of eternal spring has been locked in ice. This frozen domain is ruled by the chilling Glaciera and her devoted followers.
Fresh Ratatans and Weapon Types
The Tokyo event also introduced several brand-new Ratatans, each wielding newly revealed weapon types such as staves, bombs, scythes, and hammers. These additions promise to shake up battle strategies and add even more variety to the rhythm-based combat.
What’s Next for Ratatan
Just days before Early Access begins, a special livestream will air on Sunday, September 14 via the YouTube program AGRS Channel, hosted by voice actor Tomokazu Sugita. Expect the latest updates, the post-launch roadmap, and news on upcoming events.
Producer Kazuto Sakajiri shared a message for fans:
“To everyone who joined us at the event and all those supporting us online — thank you so much. With the Early Access version, we’ll be incorporating your feedback to make Ratatan even better. Let’s make this world an amazing one together!”
