Square Enix has released a plethora of new Dragon Quest VII Reimagined screenshots that provide a deeper look at the game‘s freshly-expanded vocation system.
Though the original PS1 version and Nintendo 3DS remake both also featured the vocation system, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined has further built upon it. This time around, characters have unique “starter vocations” in addition to the existing beginner, intermediate, and advanced vocations — something we noticed in our recent preview of the game. If that wasn’t enough for you, there’s also the new “moonlighting” mechanic, which allows your characters to have two vocations at once, letting you mix and match vocations.
Finally, you can see some of the game’s “vicious monsters” in a few of the screenshots. These are glowing monsters that are especially powerful, but defeating them grants you their “hearts” — useful items that can be equipped as accessories. These grant your characters rare effects, making them worth the trouble.
