Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the critically acclaimed RPG that has earned over 125 perfect scores and more than 40 Game of the Year awards worldwide, is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S, along with Xbox on PC via Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming. The new versions launch on June 3, 2026.
Digital Pre-Orders and Platform-Specific Bonuses
Digital pre-orders are now open across all platforms. Players who pre-order on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox on PC can take advantage of a limited-time 20% discount through June 10, 2026.
Those who pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 or Xbox platforms will receive exclusive in-game bonuses, including the Moogle Trio Summoning Materia, Posh Chocobo Summoning Materia, Shinra Bangle Mk. II, and Midgar Bangle Mk. II. These items are included alongside the standard Digital Deluxe Edition content, which features the Magic Pot Summoning Materia, Reclaimant Choker accessory, Orchid Bracelet armor, a digital artbook, and a mini-soundtrack.
Physical Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Includes MTG Bonus
Players who pre-order the physical Nintendo Switch 2 edition will receive a special Magic: The Gathering — Final Fantasy Zack Fair card, featuring variant artwork by Tetsuya Nomura. This bonus is available while supplies last.
Streamlined Progression Feature Returns
The Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox versions of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will include the Streamlined Progression feature, first introduced with Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on these platforms. This optional mode provides unlimited HP and MP, unlimited Limit and ATB gauges during combat, increased damage caps, faster weapon ability acquisition, and other adjustments designed to let players focus more on the story and cinematic combat.
A Standalone Epic Beyond Midgar
Set across a vast and vibrant world, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth follows Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aerith, and Red XIII as they escape Midgar and venture into the wider planet beyond. Their journey to stop Sephiroth—a haunting figure from Cloud’s past—introduces new allies such as Yuffie and Cait Sith, while delivering massive set pieces, emotional twists, and character-driven storytelling that resonates with both longtime fans and newcomers.
Permanent Price Drop for PlayStation 5 and PC Versions
Alongside the new platform announcement, Square Enix confirmed a permanent price reduction for the PlayStation 5 and PC versions of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, effective February 9, 2026. Updated pricing includes reduced costs across the Standard Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, upgrade options, and Twin Pack bundles.
